Dance for the babies.

Sunshower means rainbow.

For any of you still relying on the XML feed, you're markedly patient. You may have to remain that way for a while sadly.

These two shows are both fill-ins for Rainbow Groove, the dance/boogie show that's a popular part of the powerful Friday night programming block. DJ B-FAD is not only a great guy and a friend I met through co-workers, he also became a father recently, so he had a full month of fill-ins as his first born arrived. I had been tipped to fill-in for a while, though past attempts were thwarted by other plans. I finally made it for these two, requiring me to dip into less heady waters and more floorfilling climes.

Rainbow Groove fill-in #2 - Fuzzy peach highball [81.7 Mb]

This show is (mostly) all disco, save for a few house aberrations, covering a theme that I'd been dying to try out in a longer form based on a twelve hour playlist I compiled earlier. I selected a few vintage numbers along with some recent disco-inspired songs and ran with it. As firsts go, this show features my first recorded attempt at beat matching, which is easy on vinyl, sorta feasible via iPod and downright maddening with a fairly lousy laptop using iTunes (I had Serrato on the old laptop, which I barely learned when I still had it). Overall reaction to this show was quite positive, which wasn't really a surprise, but based on every other adventurous theme I approach, disco wouldn't be on the top of most people's list. I like it, though.
