With the Oscars announced on January 22nd, that gave me four weeks to profile five composers and their nominated Best Original Musical Scores, though I had already profiled Thomas Newman and his score for WALL·E earlier, leaving me one per week to work with. Selecting A. R. Rahman and his work for Slumdog Millionaire was rather easy, mostly since two of the three nominated Best Original Song nominees are his as well.

Round two of the Oscar profiles; this time, the incomparable Danny Elfman for his subtle, touching work for Milk. My intro is delightfully intruded by Val Cormier, who brought me the largest vat of barbeque sauce you can smuggle onto a plane from Luling, Texas and for the first few minutes, I was joined by CITR's divine station manager, the Discorder editor and two other DJ's, milling about and keeping me on my toes.
